Yoooo 5 Stars – A Standout Dining Experience in Mount Prospect! I recently visited The Prospect, a new gem that just opened up in Mount Prospect, and I have to say—this place is exactly what the area needed! I arrived around 6:50 PM and there was a bit of initial confusion about whether I’d be seated right away or closer to 8 PM. But once I spoke with the manager, Eric, everything turned around. He not only offered me a cocktail during the wait (a classy touch), but truly went above and beyond by seating me near the chef’s table—an unexpected and unforgettable experience. From there, it only got better. I had the opportunity to watch the kitchen in action and connect with Irvin and Chef Raul. Their teamwork and passion for what they do was so impressive—it felt like watching a symphony of flavor come to life. To start, I had the bread basket with sun-dried tomato butter. Normally, paying for bread gives me pause, but this was well worth it. The butter was perfectly salty and balanced, and the bread had that warm, fresh-baked crisp that just hits right. I also ordered the lamb chops, paired with a unique apple chutney that elevated the dish to a whole new level. Every bite was packed with flavor and thoughtful complexity. The bar was lively all night, consistently pumping out everything from signature cocktails to customized drinks. The overall vibe, energy, and pace reminded me of some of my favorite spots in Miami—a rare find since moving to Illinois. Huge thanks to Eric for his outstanding hospitality and to the entire kitchen team, especially Irvin and Chef Raul, for an unforgettable evening. I’ll definitely be back—realistically, probably next weekend 😅

As a Mount Prospect resident, it’s really exciting to have such a wonderful restaurant open in our midst. I dined with a friend and had the pleasure of Renee serving us. She was exceptional, some of the best service I have ever had. I wasn’t sure which cocktail to order and based on a short quiz by her, she delivered the most perfect drink. The food was just as high quality, it’s obvious fresh ingredients are used and each dish is prepared with careful love and attention. This is one of the best meals I have had in a LONG time. We made sure to call over Eric, the GM, to offer our compliments. He is a very kind and down to earth man, who clearly takes pride in his restaurant (as he should!). I cannot recommend the Prospect enough, for a date night, girls’ night out, or even a family outing (lots of kids around!). Thank you Renee and Eric for such a memorable evening. I hope to share more of them with you!

I love the prospect. I’ve been here multiple times and never had anything bad! I love their pastas a lot. And they have great fish dishes as well. I want them to bring the brown butter cake back, I dream about it from time to time. It is the best dessert I’ve ever had! And I’ve had 3 of their desserts. Their oysters are also sooo fresh and good especially with the mignonette sauce 🩷! Service is always great too!!

We had a lovely double date to The Prospect on a Friday night. Service was great, cocktails were delightful, and the food was excellent. Our party had the Steak Frites (x2!) with Parmesan Fries, the Pork Chop with Mashed Potatoes, and the Cod. For dessert, the Skillet Cookie and Swiss Roll. Would 100% order everything we had again. I really look forward to coming back and enjoying the rooftop terrace!

Just found out about The Prospect and was pleasantly surprised by the ambiance, service and food! We had a private party on the second floor and it was awesome! Great appetizers, high quality and delicious main courses and the drinks weee top notch! Service was perfect and the bartender went above and beyond. Looking forward to returning for dinner soon!

We got married at The Prospect this fall and could not recommend them more for any occasion, whether it's a regular dinner or a big event. The food is spectacular - all our guests were simply raving about it. Because the kitchen is right there, everything was fresh and perfectly prepared (black cod and octopus were the biggest hits), the staff actually knew how to explain it to guests, and they were able to make accommodations for dietary needs. They were flexible to make sure that everything we wanted on the menu could be there - include late night sliders. The bar set up was also perfect, with an amazing selection for signature drinks but a full bar and incredibly knowledgable staff pouring all night. The full buy-out allowed us to transition from cocktail hour and dinner downstairs to a more relaxed vibe later, with a little music and dancing for those interested and enough space to lounge and hang out for those who wanted a more quiet space to mingle. We had a small ceremony upstairs before guests arrived, and the gorgeous interior (amazing green tile and moody stairwell in particular) were a perfect location for some couple photos before, too. The team was so ready to swap out the tables to fit the different needs of the day, and there was nothing for us to worry about in that regard. Working with Justin and Nicole on event logistics, Chef Raul on the menu, and everyone on the team day-off made this event seamless. Getting there was easy. Not a lot of parking lot, but we manged it. We were there to celebrate our friend birthday. Got there around 5.38 ... and we didn't do our homework, they had happy hour till 6pm, and also the waiter further to tell us as well. The ambiance was nice, servers were very attentive, some to much attentive. Food was good, we had salats,octopus, steak, fries and a cake. Everything was fresh. Cesar salat( to me) was a joke, literally 5 leaves of the salat, to bad I didn't take a photo just to prove it... Portion are not big, small. Not to share. But overall we had a great time, great food, good food cocktails, nice ambience. Loved it.

My friends and I dined here tonight 1/21/26, and we had the best food and time. We ordered the crab cake appetizer, then ordered the swordfish, steak and frites, the braised short rib with chili Brussels Sprouts, & the half chicken w/ Cajun butter. We shared everything and it was all amazing! Our servers were great too. The icing on the cake is definitely the atmosphere and swanky decor. We’ll definitely be back! The bill was around $350 for everything, that includes drinks for all four of us. Totally worth the price bc of the quality of the food!

We visited The Prospect on Valentine’s Day and it absolutely delivered. We started with the lamb chops and brown butter scallops (the appetizer special) both were incredible. (Chef Raul if you read this- I’m officially petitioning for these to be on the menu full‑time!!) Our tomahawk was cooked to a perfect medium‑rare and was great to share, with our enhancements adding amazing flavor. For desserts we went out with a bang and ordered not one but two.. the Valentine’s cheesecake and the cookie skillet. Both were so good we couldn’t decide which was the winner! Service was top‑notch from start to finish. The hosts welcomed us right away and got us seated quickly, our server Ciro offered excellent recommendations, and the rest of the team kept everything seamless and spotless throughout the night. Drinks were spot on, and the ambiance tied everything together beautifully. It truly feels like having a slice of the city in the suburbs- great service, tasty food, and a beautiful atmosphere. Love The Prospect for any occasion!

I love finding these amazing unique little local spots in the suburbs, proving great restaurants are not only in Chicago proper. This restaurant is absolutely fantastic: the design is fresh, clean and modern, not pretentious, not wanting too much, just right. Two levels, and it has a lovely outdoor area as well, great for cocktails on a summer night. Speaking of cocktails: I had the island sling and it was fabulous. For dinner, we had the duck and the fish, some Brussels sprouts and a grilled cabbage (which was surprisingly good). Everything tasted really delicious. Due to a recent experience in another place where my duck came out raw when I said medium rare, I went for a medium here, but next time I’ll definitely try medium rare because the medium was done right, not pink. The service was great, all in all it was an excellent dining experience.
